Backflow
Backflow happens when your water flows backwards against the usual flow. Backflow is hazardous because the water contains germs and other harmful substances. Having a backflow device installed is a requirement in Australia. This is to ensure that no one is exposed to contaminants. While looking for backflows, our experts recommend testing your TMVS to ensure you have a constant water temperature even when the water pressure changes. Backflow happens when your water pressure is affected by a break in your water main or when the water outlet is higher than the water main. You can also experience a backflow if you use water at higher pressure than the pressure supplied by the local water authority.
TMV
Thermostatic Mixing Valve (TMV) blends hot and cold water to control your water outlet temperatures to safe levels. TMV reduces the risk of scalding from hot water. A TMV device will shut down if the cold or hot water supply fails. This protects you from dangerous high hot water temperatures or thermal shock from cold water.
